We are delighted to announce the formation of MERI corporate social responsibility club – Aghaz to equip budding MBA, MCA, PGDM, B.Tech students with required skill-set to be the best-fit for Corporate. It aims to develop sensible, responsible, seasoned top professionals.
MERI will create an inducive environment wherein our students will embrace responsibilities to serve the community and the society. Our endeavor is to sensitize future best mangers, technocrats and engineers towards privileged, challenged class.

- Self – Defence Training Week & Women Safety Concluding Ceremony
The week period of February 16th, 2016 to February 20th, 2016 can be termed as a revolutionizing week as Delhi Police conducted a women safety & defence training programme held at the MERI campus itself, which concluded with a ceremony of felicitation by IPS officer Dr. Monika Bhardawaj (DCP) to all the female students who participated in this.
- Jagarati campaign
CSR volunteers was divided in to two different teams for societal messages on 10th January 2016Team 1 campaigned for Save Environment at various market places like Satya Niketan Market & Janakpuri District Centre. The other team campaigned for literacy and importance of reading at International Book Fare at Pragati Maidan.

Members of CSR participated in International Yoga Drive By NDMC at CP on 21st June 2016
MERIANS mesmerized the audience at Rahagiri with their stunning musical performance at CP Times of India Stage on 6th July 2016
- Visit To GOONJ
Students Visited the Head Office of NGO Goonj on 20th August 2016 Goonj is a non-governmental organisation based in Delhi, India which undertakes disaster relief, humanitarian aid and community development in parts of 21 states across India.It recycles discarded clothes and household goods into useful products for the poor, such as sanitary napkins. It collects and delivers 1,000 tons of material every year through a network of 500 volunteers and 250 partners. It also runs infrastructure and local development projects in villages and slum areas. It was founded in 1999 by Anshu Gupta. For his work with Goonj, he was awarded the prestigious Ramon Magsaysay Award in 2015 . In 2012, he was named India’s Social Entrepreneur of the Year 2012 by Schwab Foundation, a sister organization of World Economic Forum. its heart touching to see that they have not left a single thing in their units. Kids jone was there bridal zone, male section,utensils,summer clothing, winter clothing,shoes, that senetary napkin zone,toys ,book world musical section .
Everything was there managed so properly, the coordination was superb. The feeling with all the people were working ’ It give us a great lesson of team work. They were not wasting even a single button ,pin every penny is utilized there. From there we learn a lot, how to value things, Students had a great learning about management and need of cooperation in life.
- Go Green Drive
It was the time when we decided to continue our club initiative “GO GREEN DRIVE”. On 3rd of September we decided to have a GREEN DRIVE. 60 students participated in this activity followed by 2 groups. One for C3 park in Janakpuri and other for C1 park in Janakpuri. We were leaded by our mentors and seniors. We had a journey to our destination by bus, we aware the people travelling along us for the importance of Afforestation for the survival. As we reached to our destination we met the caretaker appointed by delhi government of that park Mr. PM RAI. He was a retired scientist from DRDO also worked with honourable APJ ABDUL KALAM. He guided us for our initiative. Then our whole Aghaaz team started the “MOTTO” we came for. Every student dig the ground and started plantation. Every face was shimmering with glitter. The joy was visible in their actions, sayings. Its their zeal, enthusiasm,team spirit that lead MR. PM RAI appreciated us for this sake . Followed with plantation we were taught very good learning of life by MR. PM RAI . in his words”YOU CAN MAKE MONEY, YOU CAN MAKE CARRIER , and BUT MOST IMPORTANT THING TO MAKE IS THE CHARACTER”. He blessed all of us with very good sayings for our future.
- Rahagiri Day
The city’s most celebrated ‘Green Delhi’ initiative by Times of India in association with NDMC and Delhi Police Department was the recent target of MERI students enjoyed thoroughly with gusto and gumption on September 11th, 2016 at Connaught Place by delivering performances by students and encouraging the city to vibe along.
- Swachh Bharat Abhiyan Drive-
The drive begins from our college MERI itself on 22nd October 2016,the whole team of CSR divided in various groups floor wise and started working on our mission.5 batches were formed one for basement ,ground floor, 1st floor, 2nd floor and for the 3rd floor. Members were allotted their duties. we cleaned faculty room, Accounts Department,PS to DG room,helped faculty members with arranging their things. House keeping played a vital role in this drive , they are with us every moment to help us. we helped faculty members in arranging their files and records by tagging . we gave a message to students about the importance of cleanliness in our surrounding, and they people cooperated us with a lot by not creating any mess further. Our purpose was to generate awareness in the college premises regarding the need for hygiene . The drive ended by enlightening the spark of SWACH BHARAT ABHIYAN in our minds.
- Blood Donation Camp
Blood Donation Camp organized by Social Service Unit Of AIIMSin association with State Bank of Patiala on November 7th, 2016 at MERI. Sh. Suresh Kozhikote, DGM State Bank Of Patiala Inaugurated the event. Seeing each donor with a contentment of, ‘living a life, by giving a life’ – the ambience was even more lit up and the aspiring donors in the line; were ready for spreading their share of happiness. A Total of 76 Units were Collected. Much is to thank the students of MERI College for their sense of responsibilities and the CSR Team for actively conducting the event.
Visit to DCCW (Delhi Council for Child Welfare)
Playing their part in the society, fulfilling the duties of compassionate citizens MERI students went on September 3rd, 2014 to DCCW at JanakPuri, New Delhi. DCCW is a registered Delhi based NGO, established in 1952 dedicated to the care and rehabilitation of under-privileged, abandoned, homeless and disabled children in and around Delhi. At DCCW our students of MBA & PGDM taught the kids Origami, took lectures on personality development and conducted a workshop on Healthy living.
Green Drive in Delhi
MERI students again make the cut by being responsible and love for nature both in hand at the Green Drive in Delhi on September 10th, 2014 Helping in sensitizing the society of the need & importance of Green Delhi – Clean Delhi campaign;this helps in combating pollution and broadening the motto of: ‘For each tree cut, plant 10 saplings’.
Blood Donation Camp
Organised by the Rotary Club on September 17th, 2014 at MERI Auditorium in which the students participated in a big number saving a life by donating blood. There was an overwhelming response by the students around 80 units of blood was collected by the rotary club.
Jammu & Kashmir Relief Fund
In view of the massive flood that hit the Kashmir Valley, we were not behind in providing aid from our side by donating essential medicines . This event was held to support the people of valley at the J&K House at Chanakyapuri, New Delhi on September 28th, 2014.
Swachh Bharat Abhiyan Week
Invigorating the concept of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan by Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, the zeal in students was commendable from September 29th, 2014 to October 4, 2014. Students, teachers, staff and security guards all joined hands and did their best for the success of this initiative at and around the premises of MERI College.
“While I burn away the sins of this year in the holy light of a Diya and paint this town red with cheer, Diwali is the beacon of sharing joys and celebrating new beginnings.” MERI MBA, PGDM & MCA students welcomed the wintery Diwali with the warmth of creativity and celebration by distributing sweets and clothes among the housekeeping and security guards on October 22nd, 2014.
Aravalli Bio-Diversity Park
From wasteland to paradise in ten years, Vasant Vihar’s biodiversity park has become a sanctuary for rare flora and fauna. February 24th, 2015 morning marked a day filled with joy, laughter & knowledge strengthened the bond between us and nature, but importantly between students and teachers. The Aravalli Biodiversity Park in Vasant Kunj was not only a fun-filled excursion but also an opportunity to enliven our sense of belongingness to the environment.
“An apple a day, keeps the doctor at bay!” As Buddha rightly said, “Without health, life is not life; it is only a state of languor & suffering – an image of death” and so for we care and mean well, we seek welfare and tips of healthy living in this Health Camp organized on February 28th, 2015 along with one of the leading hospital of Delhi,B. L. Kapoor. Around 350 visitors were attended on a single day by various cardiac, orthopaedics and physiotherapy doctors.
“Khelo Holi Naturally” – Holi, the most colourful time of the year; marks the end of the winter gloom and rejoices in the bloom of the spring time.
While markets flood with commercialized toxic Holi colours of every hue, MERI encouraged the use of Organic Colours that are made naturally from flowers and nature’s products like sandal and turmeric by initiating ‘Safe Holi’ at the Campus on March 4th, 2015, keeping intact the gaiety and glamour of the festival.
June 2015 is that time of the year at MERI when the old winds change for the new winds to chime the bells of heart-warming farewell of an old batch and hearty welcome of the new batch. Career Counselling is one main event organized in this month by the Placement Cell of the Campus in the institute only, ensuring that each student is guided to their future path in a clear & sorted manner.
Visit to Old Age Home
“When grace is joined with wrinkles, it is adorable. There is an unspeakable dawn in happy old age.” Well said by Victor Hugo but less realized by the society. August 27th, 2015 and few following days spent at Sai Vridh Ashram, NihalVihar with some wrinkled friends of the society are a magnanimous way of showing love and care and giving happiness to them by sharing time with those old faces who have been discarded by families and scarred for life with loneliness.
Honoring the Police with the ultimate bond of safety and security respected & regarded since ages, by tying them Rakhis on the auspicious day of Raksha Bandhan on August 28th, 2015 at Hari Nagar Police Station, the team of MERI-CSR embodied the true spirit of Rakhi.

The 5-S Model is in regard with the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan initiative which was held from October 1st, 2015 to 5th October, 2015 at the campus itself involving everyone to hold on to the pledge made last year for keeping chores and premises of the campus in & around clean and maintain the effort throughout.
