PGDM is a career-oriented course conducted in AICTE-approved institutions. It is different from an MBA in terms of flexibility and regular updation to suit industry trends.
It will be highly useful in 2026 because of its practical orientation. Through internships, case studies, and projects, students can get exposure to the corporate world. According to reports, many leading colleges have achieved placements of 90%-100% with an average salary of ₹5 to 15LPA, and some of the best salary packages crossing ₹40-50 LPA.
The selection of appropriate institutions makes a huge difference. MERI, Janakpuri, can be considered a good example as far as industry exposure and placements are concerned. There have been many instances where more than 90% placements were reported with an average package of ₹7.5 LPA in firms like TCS, Wipro, Reliance, etc.
Apart from this, programs such as BCA and management are affiliated with GGSIPU with skill-based learning, internship, and exposure to industries in order to make students ready for employment.
Hence, PGDM is worth doing in 2026, especially from reputed colleges like MERI.
